Zafeer Ahmed Shaikh
Project Co-Lead
Zafeer started bird watching in Karachi back in the winter of 2017 when he was first introduced to it by his mentor, Mirza Naim Beg. Starting off from the Budhni Nalla behind his grandmother’s house in Hawksbay, he has been exploring Karachi avian diversity since then. He is actively involved in local birdwatching and community efforts.
Sarfraz Hayat
Sarfraz is a veteran birdwatcher, with a huge impact on birdwatching culture in Pakistan. Born and raised in the United Kingdom, his attachment to Pakistan is visible by the fact that he has birded from Kech to Thar, from Kashmir to Khyber and more. He was directly involved in springing up Pakistan’s first online birdwatching community, Birds of Pakistan which continues to work towards raising the profile of birds and birdwatching in the Country.

Shibil Alizada
Shibil is a citizen scientist currently studying at Ivy school, Karachi were he is actively involved in highlighting birds, birdwatching and conservation issues via his Ted talks and Artwork especially through his comics in Pakistan’s leading birdwatching newsletter, Daangeer.
